Description : Produced By Ukrainian Manufacturer Aeroprakt, The A-20 Vista Is A Family Of Ultralight High Wing Two Seaters. Originally Introduced In 1993, The Vista Made Its Entry Into The North American Market In 1999. The Company Has Since Derived Numerous Variants Including: The Original A-20 Vista, The A-20 Vista Stol, The A-20 Vista Ss, The A-20 Cruiser, The A-20 Cruiser-S, And The Latest Incarnation The A-20 Varlet. The Original Vista Was Composed Of A Fiberglass Fuselage And Fabric-Aluminum Wings And Tail. Designed Primarily For Low-Speed Applications, The Aircraft Was Equipped With A 50 Horsepower Rotax 503 Engine And Could Fly At A Ceiling Of 93 Miles Per Hour And A Maximum Cruise Of 70 Miles Per Hour. With A Strut Braced Wing Structure And Conventional Landing Gear, The Vista Can Cruise At Up To 87 Miles Per Hour. Additionally The Aircraft Can Store 23.8 Gallons Of Fuel And Fly For A Range Of Approximately 248 Miles And 4.5 Hours Endurance. Later Versions Have Equipped The A-20 With Increasingly Higher Horsepower Engines. The A-20 Vista Stol (Modified For Short Takeoff And Landing) And The A-20 Vista Ss Were Equipped With A 64 Horsepower Rotax 582. The Ss Was A Higher Cruise Speed Variant With A Reduced Wingspan Of 33.4 Feet. The Cruiser And Cruiser-S Variants Were Fitted With A 100 Horsepower Rotax 912 Uls Engine As Well As Reduced Wingspans (The Former With 33.4 Feet And The Latter With 31.0 Feet). These Variants Have A Fuel Capacity Of 33 Gallons Which Can Carry Them Over A Range Of Above 800 Miles. The Varlet Is Optimized For Light Sport Aircraft (Lsa) Standards In The U.S. Market. Featuring A Cantilevered (Self-Supporting Structure Without Strut Bracing) Wing Configuration Which Reduces Drag And Increases Roll Rate, The Varlet Meets Lower Lsa Speed Limitations. This Variant Is Composed Largely Of Composite Material In The Fuselage, Engine Cowl, Wing Tips, Wheel Pants, Propeller, And In A Fiberglass/Epoxy Hull Containing An Airex Foam Core. The Varlet Also Has Fabric Covered, Aluminum Wings And Control Surfaces.
